The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced that it will be recruiting for multiple open positions within the Railway Group-D of the Indian Railway (Level-1) via a recruitment notification in 2026. Extremely large numbers of positions will be available throughout all zones of Indian Railways. This will allow those who have completed class X (10) (Matric) or have obtained an ITI / NAC certification to apply for a position with the Central Government.

Education Qualification
| Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or ITI from a recognized board/institute approved by NCVT/SCVT. |
Railway RRB Group-D (Level-1) Recruitment 2026-Selection Process 2025
Computer Based Test (CBT):
This is the first stage of selection.
It is an objective type test based on questions related to General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness & Current Affairs.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be called for the PET.
Male Candidates: Should lift and carry 35 kg to a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes. Run a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.
Female Candidates: Should lift and carry 20 kg to a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes. Run a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds.
Document Verification (DV):
The candidates shortlisted from the PET will be called for verification of original documents.
Medical Examination:
This is the final stage to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to hold the posts..
